Originally completed in 1926, the Garment Capitol Building stands as one of the Fashion District’s most distinctive architectural landmarks. Designed by renowned architect William Douglas Lee and developed by Florence C. Casler, a pioneering figure in Downtown Los Angeles real estate, the building embodies the grandeur of early 20th-century design.
In 2012, Capital Foresight acquired and transformed the property into loft-style residences through a $20 million restoration. The renovation revived the building’s ornate façade—including the rooftop finials lost to a 1930 gas explosion and removed in 1952—and meticulously restored historic interior details such as the lobby’s decorative ceiling.
Today, the Garment Capitol Building offers 77 residential units and 3,479 square feet of ground-floor retail, seamlessly blending historic preservation with modern urban living.
