The Depot at Hyde Park, which broke ground last year, has taken shape along Crenshaw Blvd. The plastered exterior was recently unveiled featuring bold moments of orange. The project continues our work with our long-time collaborators at GTM Holdings and the United Building Company, and is our first with W.O.R.K.S. (Women Organizing Resources Knowledge and Services) who’ve designated that all 43 units will be affordable housing and half will be specifically dedicated to victims of domestic abuse. The design intent is to catalyze high quality development and architectural design along the Crenshaw corridor. The building façade presents a dynamic, pleated effect, generating movement along the street so that no two vantage points are alike. On axis with 66th Street, the double-height entry plaza promotes activity and connects to the courtyard and resident herb garden above. The proximity to the brand new K Line qualifies it for T.O.C. Tier 3 status. Completion of the building is slated for early 2023.
